Brilliant experience from start to finish. I had cataract (PTK) and Laser Refractive surgery. I had immediate improved sight. The whole team are incredible. Support is on tap and aftercare available instantly. Without a doubt Julian Stevens is world class and I never considered going anywhere else for my procedure. I did not look at any other providers. My experience was so successful that when I friend asked me about my procedure - my reply was simply "it was a walk in the park" and now I have bright, sharp vision without the use of everyday glasses.

I underwent a bilateral lense exchange this year, which was worrying as the outcome can be unpredictable, and made even more stressful by Covid 19. I had complete confidence in Mr Julian Stevens, having been his patient 9 years ago for the initial lens implants. He is a highly skilled and experienced surgeon, who I knew would give me the best outcome possible, which he did. My sight is so much better and my ongoing follow ups are arranged and carried out efficiently, professionally and to suit my individual needs. Mr Stevens Is professional, approachable, honest, courteous and has a sense of humour. He explains things well, and gives the time needed without appearing rushed. He clearly wanted the best outcome possible for me and discussed all options and expectations. The whole team in Moorfields outpatient department are polite and efficient. And I felt looked after by Mr Stevens and his secretary Janet, during my procedures in the hospital.

If you are, as I was, suffering from very high myopia, with cataracts which have reached such a stage as to render specs/contact lenses no longer effective to make your accustomed way of living feasible, do not despair. Cataract removal and lens replacement surgery can restore your sight, quite possibly so as to make the use of specs/contact lenses unnecessary thereafter. Such surgical procedures depend on extremely sensitive and deft use of a particular laser machine and very precise calculations as to replacement lens type, prescription etc. Mr Stevens is a leading consultant in the field, with a CV which speaks for itself and years of experience in performing such procedures successfully. (You need only look at reviews by other patients of his on this site and on that of Google to appreciate the high esteem in which he is held). If you are concerned about NHS waiting list times and anxious that NHS volumes of work necessarily may allow less scope for investigating and discussing the intricacies of your own circumstances, I would encourage you to seek out Mr Stevens. (Be aware, though, that at least one leading health insurance provider does not include Mr Stevens on its list of approved consultants, simply, as I understand it, on the basis that his fees are outwith the range permitted by that provider). Mr Stevens will give you the opportunity to express and discuss the outcome you desire from the surgery and will give you a realistic assessment of what you can expect from the procedures. His team at 9-11 Bath Street, 3rd Floor, which includes, amongst others, Janet - his P/A, administrators, scan technicians, and optometrists, is very experienced and all members are unfailingly helpful, warmly welcoming and thoroughly professional. Should questions occur to you after any consultation, an email or letter to Mr Stevens' office will elicit a response. I cannot recommend Mr Stevens highly enough. You will see in other reviews by his patients references to "miracle" and "life changing transformation". Given his dedication to his field, his meticulous calculations and his exceptionally skilful use of the laser machine, Mr Stevens doubtless will jib at the term "miracle" with its connotations of sanctity, but its use by patients perhaps can be forgiven easily in light of the sense of renaissance felt by them. As I say, if you can, seek out Mr Stevens for a consultation. It may prove a blessing later.

Julian is a brilliant ophthalmic surgeon, in 2007 he operated on both my cataracts with huge success and completed the process with laser surgery to give me stunning vision. Since then I have referred many of my family and friends to him and the are all totally delighted. Recently one of my lenses was damaged by retinal surgery elsewhere and Julian and others in the Moorfields team have done an amazing job to restore my damaged vision. I cannot recommend him highly enough ( needs more than 5 stars!)

Mr Stevens is a global leader in his field and has performed at the highest level throughout his career. It is a real privilege that he is practising in London. I had the very best care imaginable from start to finish from his team and Julian himself. I joked on my application form that I was hopeful for 20/10 and have achieved that so I'm very grateful. I cannot recommend Julian and his team enough, it has been a real pleasure. Thanks Julian!
